The Alexanderkins, eight inch dolls by Madame Alexander

Wendy

Wendy Ann dolls were named for and modeled from Madame Alexander's granddaughter.   The Billy dolls were named for her grandson William.  Wendy Ann passed away at the age of 20.  In 1955 the Alexander Doll Company dropped the name "Ann" from the Wendy Ann doll's name.  From that time on, the dolls were simply known as Wendy.
